Realization

“Today I did something very stupid but if truth be told, I’d do it again in a heartbeat.” – Lex

Faith woke up with a bright light shining her eyes. She was lying down on a bed with no memory as to how she got there. She heard voices and she looked to her right to see Saoirse standing next to her with Catrianna, Ambrosia and Rin behind her.

“Thank God you’re awake,” said Saoirse with relief.

“What happened? Where am I? How did I get here?” Faith asked groggily.

“Don’t know,” said Saoirse. “But you’re in the Infirmary and a security guard brought you in,”

“My head hurts,” said Faith putting her hand to her forehead.

“Yeah, you were pretty out of it. You’ve been here for hours. School’s already over,” said Ambrosia “Do you have any idea what made you faint?”

“No sleep probably,” she muttered, rubbing her head.

Faith’s mind stirred then she remembered seeing a tall blond boy with whitish blond hair and then everything else came crashing down on her. The realization of everything she had heard had come.

“My cousin Dev has a thing for a Bringer named Caprice Leah Landis,” she announced.

“Princess Leah Landis are you sure?” said Rin and Faith nodded.

“There can’t be two girls with that same name,” said Faith “Wait, she’s a Princess?”

“Yeah. She is from a different dimension. An Impetual BOD,” said Ambrosia

“What does that mean?” Saoirse asked

“Impetuals are Bringers from important families,” Rin explained.

“Like Pride Leafander?” Faith whispered and Catrianna’s eyes flashed at her and then to Rin.

“How do you know that name?” Rin asked raising one eyebrow in suspicion.

“I met him today,” said Faith.

“Is he incredibly blond, like platinum?” Catrianna asked

“Yes.” said Faith ‘As well, as an incredible kisser.’ she thought to herself.

“So, he’s back,” said Rin.

“Is he really a Defender for the Brotherhood?” Faith asked.

“Yes,” said Rin “Son of Cloud, founder of the Brotherhood,”

“Which would make him Daia’s nephew,” said Faith more to herself than the group.

“He’s been a double agent for a while now. Going by the alias Pride Leafander of another realm,” she explained.

“What did he say to you?” Catrianna asked.

“Not much,” said Faith feeling her face warm... “He just wanted to warn me about Cyphren, he was bothering me again,”

“What?” said Rin angrily. “You see that’s why you guys should not be alone.”

“But he wasn’t going to touch me,” said Faith, “He said he doesn’t want me anymore, said it grossed him out for some reason.” Then something in Faith’s memory stirred. She had distinctly remembered Cyphren calling her ‘sis’, but she was not his sister, it just didn’t make any sense. She looked up to Rin who had a far away look in her eyes.

“He knows who you are then,” she said more to herself than anyone else.

“What do you mean ‘he knows who I am?’” Faith asked and then she turned to her.

“Nothing,” said Rin.

“Tell me, I have a right to know,” Faith ordered looking from Rin to Catrianna, “Does it have anything to do with him calling me ‘sis’?” Rin turned sharply away from her.
